Terms & Conditions for Service
By booking an appointment with Megan Sparkles Dog Grooming (“we”, “us”, “our”), you confirm your acceptance of the following terms and conditions.
1. Liability & Health Disclosures
- Pre-Existing Conditions: Grooming may reveal or exacerbate existing medical issues. We cannot be held responsible for any conditions discovered during the grooming process.
- Accidents: Though we take every precaution, grooming carries inherent risks (e.g. cuts, nicks, grazes, quicked nails). By booking, you accept these risks. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services at any time if we believe continuing would jeopardise your pet’s welfare.
- Fatalities: We are not liable for accidental death arising from undisclosed or unforeseeable pre-existing conditions.
- Outside the salon: You as the owner are responsible for your dog to and from the Dog Pod. Please use a lead to reduce the chance of you dog chasing life stock/ running into the road.
2. Data Protection (GDPR)
All personal data provided via our online diary, website, or social media channels is stored securely and used solely for matters relating to your pet’s grooming. We will never share your data outside Megan Sparkles Dog Grooming.
3. Presentation of Your Pet
- Dogs must arrive free of mats. Heavy matting or excessive soiling may require extra time and incur additional charges.
- Prices assume an 8-week maximum interval between grooms; appointments beyond 8 weeks may attract surcharges to cover extended washing, drying, or de-matting.
4. Health & Vaccinations
- We strongly recommend all dogs be up to date with vaccinations and veterinary parasite treatments (flea, tick, worm).
- If evidence of fleas or worms is found on arrival, a £10 minimum surcharge will apply. We use veterinary-grade disinfectants, but ultimate responsibility for prevention lies with the owner.
5. Deposits
We currently do not require deposits, relying instead on clients’ commitment to attend or provide timely cancellation notice. If you fail give notice or no show, a deposit will be required before you rebook.
6. Payment Terms
- Methods: Card or Cash at drop-off or collection. Bank transfer by prior arrangement—funds must clear and proof of payment provided before release of your pet.
- Final Charges: All quotes are estimates. Final invoice reflects the actual time and resources required, including any additional handling or staffing needs.
7. Cancellations & No-Shows
- 48-Hour Notice: Requested. No fee.
- 24-Hour Notice: 50% of booked service fee.
- Same-Day Cancellation or No-Show: 100% of booked service fee.
- Rebooking: A deposit will be required for clients with repeated late cancellations or no-shows. All outstanding fees must be settled before any new appointment is confirmed.
8. Alterations & Corrections
Please inspect your pet’s groom at collection. Any adjustments must be requested within 48 hours; thereafter, re-grooming or re-washing may incur extra charges.
9. Matted Coats & Shave-Downs
- Severely matted coats may necessitate a full clip-off, which can reveal skin irritations, cuts, or infections. You accept that we cannot be held liable for underlying conditions exposed by de-matting or shaving.
- Extra charges apply for shave-downs due to the additional time and care required.
10. Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs
- You agree to disclose any history of biting or aggression at booking.
- We reserve the right to require muzzling, refuse service, or terminate grooming if we consider your dog a risk to staff or other animals. In such cases, the full service fee remains payable.
11. Toileting
Ensure your dog has relieved itself before arrival. If your dog soils the salon and requires an additional bath, you will incur an extra charge. Any mess must be collected and disposed of appropriately.
12. Day Care
We do not offer formal day-care. If you cannot collect your pet within 30 minutes of the appointment end time, a £10 per-hour sitting fee will apply.
13. Photography & Marketing
We may photograph or video your pet before, during, or after grooming for promotional use. Please notify us in advance if you do not consent to photography.
14. General
If you have any questions about grooming tools, products, or home-care between appointments, please ask—we’re always happy to advise.
